Baxi MCS Umbrella Scheme

The Baxi MCS Umbrella Scheme is a service by Baxi that allows heating engineers and installers to fit air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and help customers access government grants—such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)—without needing to be independently MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certified themselves

How It Works

  • Admin & Compliance Handled: Baxi takes care of the complex design, compliance paperwork, and heat-loss calculations so installers can focus purely on the physical installation.

  • Two On-Site Visits:
    1. Initial Survey: Baxi engineers visit the property to conduct a room-by-room heat-loss calculation, sound assessment, and check existing radiators/pipework.
    2. Commissioning: Baxi returns for a second on-site visit to inspect and commission the completed installation.

  • Grant Access: It enables installers to offer homeowners eligibility checks and paperwork processing for the UK government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme (providing up to £7,500 towards qualifying heat pump installations).

  • Documentation & Handover: Baxi provides all required MCS-certified paperwork upon completion.
